Balanced Imperfection, with funding from NACCHO, is honored to be able to engage the harm reduction community in co-creating another important work in the Harm Reduction Hacks series focused on fixed site harm reduction spaces particularly fixed site syringe access programs.
NACCHO has awarded nearly $350,000 in funding to seven Overdose Response Strategy (ORS) pilot projects to help address the overdose crisis in their communities.
Through this project, NACCHO worked with three public health organizations to implement and evaluate Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) for HRSU in STI clinics.
Local health departments and their community partners have been the driving force behind the IOPSLL program as their teams work diligently to prevent overdoses and advance the health and safety of people who use drugs in their community every day. NACCHO is proud to share the ways in which these local health departments have utilized their IOPSLL funding to prevent and respond to overdose.
NACCHO had the opportunity to sit down with Heather Flanagan and Christine Schippert from Orange County Health Services Department to discuss the vital work they do for overdose prevention through the ISOPSLL project.
World AIDS day is recognized on December 1st each year to support those living with and affected by HIV, and remember those who have died from HIV-related illnesses.
