NACCHO is pleased to announce two new funding opportunities to decrease syphilis via community engagement. Both opportunities focus on engaging community members to develop, or tailor, a plan to decrease syphilis burden in the local community.
Last week, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health announced the first cases of a concerning new gonorrhea strain. The new strain shows reduced response to multiple antibiotics and another case was also found that had genetic markers that indicate a similar drug response. Would your health department benefit from understanding and utilizing the 340B Drug Pricing Program? NACCHO and the National Coalition of STD Directors (NCSD) explored the basics and beyond of 340B.
Research has shown that while adolescents and young people who use drugs are just as vulnerable to substance use-related harms, they are much less likely to utilize harm reduction services than older age groups.
The National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) hosted a virtual consultation, “STI Post-Exposure Prophylaxis with Doxycycline” on December 5th and December 6th, 2022. This meeting was convened by NACCHO with the support of CDC’s Division of STD Prevention (DSTDP) and the National Network of STD Clinical Prevention Training Centers (NNPTCs).
