DoxyPEP: Data, Implications, and a Way Forward - Webinar Recap
An NIH funded study has demonstrated that use of doxycycline post-exposure prophylaxis (Doxy-PEP) is successful in preventing bacterial STIs amongst individuals at an increased risk for repeated STI acquisition. Watch NACCHO’s deeper look into the Doxy-PEP study as Dr. Julie Dombrowski, a co-investigator of the study who also helps run Public Health — Seattle & King County’s HIV/STD program, discuss the data and findings from the study, as well as how this impacts the future of public health.
Ryan White-funded jurisdictions: Participate in a virtual learning community
Rapid Start has demonstrated the ability to achieve improvements in ART uptake, viral suppression, and retention in care. Ryan White-funded jurisdictions have an important role to play in enabling swift replication of these approaches more broadly, at the point of care, as part of the nation’s plan to end the HIV epidemic.
Ryan White-funded jurisdictions are invited to join a small group of similarly motivated peers to participate in a virtual Learning Community to establish and foster a Rapid Start strategy that draws on, coordinates, and enhances a broad range of linkage to care resources and gives health departments and providers tools to replicate them. For more information, including how to apply, please visit this page. Applications should take no more than 10 minutes to complete and are due December 15 to [email protected].

NCSD Requests for Information: STD Programs Helping STD Programs
Is there a major project you want to implement but would like peer guidance on? Have you recently implemented a new program and want to share lessons learned with your peers?
NCSD is looking for programs that use TellYourPartner.org and would be interested in sharing their experience with peers. Please reach out to [email protected] if you are interested in learning more.
NCSD is excited to announce that we are recruiting for our next peer-to-peer technical assistance (TA) exchange! We are looking for two jurisdictions that will work together to solve TA issues with NCSD’s facilitation and guidance. This peer-to-peer exchange can be about anything – outbreak response, surveillance systems, addressing congenital syphilis – you name it! NCSD can even support travel for an in-person meeting to supplement virtual Zoom meetings if that is of interest to your group. We can work with you to make this peer-to-peer TA fit your needs.
If you are interested in participating, please contact Talia Parker ([email protected]).
2022 World AIDS Day (WAD) CDC Toolkits
The 2022 World AIDS Day (WAD) toolkit is now available! Observed annually on December 1, WAD is a day to raise awareness of HIV among people worldwide and encourage them to get tested and know their prevention options. This toolkit includes ready-to-use social media messages and graphics to share leading up to and on WAD. You can also show your support by using campaign resources that are available in English and Spanish to help stop HIV stigma and encourage HIV testing, prevention, and treatment.
The theme for WAD was just announced, “Putting Ourselves to the Test: Achieving Equity to End HIV.” It encourages people to come together to eliminate the disparities that create barriers to HIV testing, prevention, and access to care. This theme also highlights the importance of HIV testing and ensuring that everyone has access to appropriate HIV services. Read more about the theme.
