MyNACCHO LoginLocal health departments (LHDs) work to protect their communities from overdose, injury, and violence every day. While the scale and nuance of these issues require a dedicated and locally tailored response, one critical role for LHDs lies in sharing information and educating their communities through communications campaigns.
NACCHO’s Overdose, Injury, and Violence Prevention (OIVP) workgroup recognizes both the importance of this work and the constraints and capacity limitations that LHDs face. To facilitate the dissemination of effective messaging, the workgroup has developed a resource table of media campaigns to help local communities raise awareness and educate around many key topics.
NACCHO’s OIVP workgroup has curated a list of campaigns covering common topics related to overdose, injury, and violence prevention. Many of the campaigns provide resources across several media formats that can be readily adapted by local jurisdictions. Last Updated August 2025.
