Back to Agenda Stephanie D. Carey, MPH
Stephanie Carey is the Health Officer for Montgomery Township (Somerset County), New Jersey. She is Immediate Past President of the Greater Somerset Public Health Partnership and serves on the Executive Board of the New Jersey Health Officers Association.
Montgomery Township was a participant in NACCHO’s 2008 Preparation for Accreditation and Quality Improvement program. The resulting community outreach and partnership-building was designated a NACCHO “Promising Practice” in 2009. Montgomery Township also promotes Quality Improvement through its participation in the Multi-state Learning Collaborative (2010).
Ms. Carey has over 25 years experience protecting Public Health and the environment. She has presented at conferences discussing Environmental Health, Risk Communication, and Emergency Preparedness issues. She has worked as a New Jersey Registered Environmental Health Specialist and also as a forester in the US Forest Service. She holds a Master’s in Public Health from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, and a BS in Natural Resources from Rutgers University.
