The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC’s) Effective Interventions website features a new resource: Taking Care of Me. This 29-minute waiting room video focuses on antiretroviral (ART) adherence, retention in care, and sexual risk reduction. The video was developed for people living with HIV from diverse cultural backgrounds to be viewed in HIV clinics and other HIV community-based agencies. It was evaluated using a quasi-experimental trial among all patients attending two HIV clinics during a 10-month period. The evaluation, published in PLOS One, showed that there was an increase in prescriptions of ART to patients exposed to the video and an overall improvement in viral suppression at the clinics.
