NACCHO strives to support and work with LHDs to improve food safety and prevent foodborne illness. One way this is accomplished is through NACCHO’s Food Safety Toolkit, a repository of information, data, and projects from across the country on food safety.
The National Association of County and City Health Officials partnered with ecoAmerica to host a Climate for Health Ambassadors training on July 6, 2020.
On July 7–9, 2020, approximately 600 local public health professionals participated in NACCHO’s first ever virtual conference, NACCHO 360. Attendees participated in nearly 100 sharing sessions, learned from expert-led panels, and discovered solutions to improve public health in their communities.
This year, 36 local health department programs have been recognized as a Promising Practice, which demonstrate exciting approaches and strategies to local public health issues that are on track to becoming Model Practices.
Today, the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO), the voice of the nation’s nearly 3,000 local governmental health departments, named its 2020 Model Practice Award Winners, an annual recognition of programs demonstrating exemplary and replicable qualities in response to a critical local public health needs.
On May 13, CDC announced a new partnership with the Environmental Systems Research Institute, Inc. (Esri) that will make it easier for states to build new, or enhance existing, publicly available COVID-19 data dashboards.
