In particular, this checklist addresses outbreaks of Carbapenem-resistant enterobacteriaceae (CRE) and focuses on collecting case information and establishing timelines; conducting facility site visits and assessing risk of exposure at the facility level; developing an investigation plan; conducting surveillance; and engaging in provider communication.
