In June of 2007 the Multnomah County Health Department funded the Health Equity Initiative (HEI), a countywide effort focusing on addressing the root causes of social and racial injustices that lead to health disparities. The Initiative supports the County's commitment to improving the health of all Multnomah County residents by considering the ways that societal conditions in which we live, learn, work and play affect health.
